» Juniors

Thank you for visiting this area of our web site. Junior competition holds a special place in the hearts of  all Western Michigan players, with Kalamazoo having served as home of the USTA Boy's 18 and 16 Super National Championships for more than 60 years.

Rankings

WMTA adopted a points per round ranking system from 2006 to the present.  Please refer to the regulations posted under separate title in this section of the website for the specific requirements.

Seeding versus Ranking:

Please note that when your name appears on a "seeding" list, this is not the same as a "ranking". You are still eligible to play in satellite events if you have a "seeding" in an age group. The seedings are simply a tool used by tournament directors to help create their draws.  A "ranking" is generated only after December 31 if you have generated a minimum number of points in an age group. Once you have generated a "ranking" you may not enter a satellite tournament.

Player Records:

You should review your online player record after December 31 to ensure that all of the previous years data is accurate and complete.  Corrections should be reported to chad@midwest.usta.com. Please review the procedure for reviewing a player record in the drop down menu above.

For more information, please email paula@wmitennis.com  and we'll be glad to answer any questions, get you started on court or point you to the right program.
